Lou Acosta

Louis Angel Acosta, also known as Brother Lew, was born in Puerto Rico in 1953. He was raised in New York City and moved to Ohio in 1984. He earned dual Bachelors degrees in Business and Religion from Ashland University. Acosta is an author, director, producer, artist, poet, speaker, urban evangelist and minister.
Acosta provides this autobiographical summary:
Acosta's testimonies are reflected in his lyrics whether he's reflecting his fatherless childhood, gangbanger lifestyle, or the contract hits on this life. God has used Brother Lew to help birth over 50 ministries in the last 15 years and thousands have come to the Word through speaking, teaching, preaching and Gospel rap music. Prison chaplains, juvenile detention center counselors, teachers and youth group directors buy, and give away many of Brother Lew's CDs, videos or books. Brother has appeared on stage with many individuals and groups. He's hosted six different radio programs and 11 video shows throughout Northeast Ohio. He's appeared on Trinity Broadcasting Network's "Praise the Lord" TV show twice as well as the Christian Broadcasting Network out of Detroit. His songs have been on various albums and compilations, with the latest being "Caught in the Crossfire". Acosta is very active in the community with the Alcohol, Drug, Violence and Crime Prevention as well as Gospel Hip Hop and Urban Evangelism.
